This little book has been a long time coming. I wrote it two years ago. I’ve always had this sort of obsession with all things Irish, even though I’ve never been to Ireland. Maybe it’s because my birthstone is an emerald – I don’t know. But I love me some Emerald Isle. A couple years ago when it seemed like every single mythological and fantasy creature ever known had been turned into a YA novel already, I got the giggles thinking about writing a book with leprechauns. My husband was like, “Wendy. You cannot write a story with leprechauns. They are not sexy. Don’t do it.” When I pouted he proceeded to laugh at me. Oh, snap. Challenge accepted, buddy! And so the wheels began turning in my wicked little brain. Since I was starting the story with an unconventional type of creature, I wondered how much different I could make this book than anything else out there. I wondered how much opposite I could make it from my own Sweet Trilogy books, and still love it. Basically, this book started as a crazy challenge to myself. And I fell in love. I laughed until my sides hurt. I wiped away some tears. I swooned. I hope you will, too. But no pressure. *hugs* That being said, here is the cover and blurb for my stand-alone Magical Realism YA Romance with a dash of Fantasy… (wow, that was a mouthful) * * * * * * * * Blurb: While most seventeen-year-old American girls would refuse to let their parents marry them off to a stranger, Robyn Mason dreams of the mysterious McKale in Ireland, wondering how he’ll look and imagining his cute Irish accent. Prearranged bindings are common for magical families like her own, however when she travels to the whimsical Emerald Isle she discovers there’s more to her betrothal and McKale’s clan than she could have imagined. What starts as an obligatory pairing between Robyn and McKale morphs over time into something they both need. But one giant obstacle stands the way of their budding romance: a seductive and deadly Fae princess accustomed to getting what she wants—and what she wants is McKale as her plaything. Love, desire, and jealousies collide as Robyn’s family and McKale’s clan must work together to outsmart the powerful Faeries and preserve the only hope left for their people. Publication Date: October 1st, 2013 And here is the gorgeous paperback jacket, which is the full picture! Add See Me to your Goodreads Shelf!
A HUGE “Thank You” to my talented and wonderful friend Carrie McRae for designing the cover! And she’s got one more image she’s working on for the book. SQUEE! Can’t wait for you to see! If you’d like to support her, here are her social links: Carrie on Facebook Carrie on Twitter Carrie’s Website Note * * When my publisher passed on this book two months ago, I decided I would take the leap and self-publish. This makes the availability a bit different from my other books, and it cannot be preordered. The ebook will be available on Kindle, Nook, and probably Kobo for $3.99. The paperback will only be available via Amazon and Createspace for $10.99. I apologize for the limited availability. This is a new adventure for me, and I’m glad to have my agent on board! Thanks everyone for your continued love and support. It means the world!
