COVER ADAPTATION CONTEST!

I have a crazy idea, guys. It could be a flop, or it could be extraordinary. I’m obviously hoping for the latter.

It’s been one month since my debut novel, Sweet Evil, hit the shelves. The month of May has been a dream for me, thanks to all of you.  YOU ALL FRIGGIN ROCK!  So let’s have some fun, eh?

Earlier this month my friends threw me a surprise launch party, and that is where this crazy idea began to brew. You see, we got a little silly during the picture-taking, and someone dared my husband and I to “recreate” my book cover, pretending to be Anna and Kai.  Let’s just say we did not even come close to pulling it off.  For one thing, neither of us could keep a straight face at the same time. And the pose Anna is rockin’? It’s much less comfortable to hold than it looks.

And this is the part where I show you the embarrassing, ridiculous pictures and you get to laugh…

​Alrighty then.  Now that we’ve got our giggles out of the way, here is the contest!

Recreate any Young Adult or Middle Grade book cover!  

• I’m not looking for a modification of the actual cover – I’m looking for something original – your take on that cover. Please do not use any part of the actual cover in your entry. By “recreating” I mean it has to show some similarity to the actual cover, although you can feel free to elaborate and get creative. For example, if you’re a drawer you can do a cartoon interpretation. Or you can pose yourself and your friends like the cover models and take pictures. Use props. Get silly. (I’m not expecting super fancy stuff…I mean, look at my pics, lol. Special preference will be given to entries with original pics, as opposed to professional pics.)
• You may submit up to three digital still shots. Up to three entries per person – they can be the same cover or differing ones. You can do Sweet Evil or any YA/MG cover of your choice.
• Email your entries to [email protected] and then comment on this post so that I know you entered (be sure to include your blogger screen name in the email so I can keep track of who is who)
• Deadline for entries is June 14th – that doesn’t give you much time, so get busy!  
• The final winners will be chosen through public voting in the comments.
• Prizes include: a signed copy of Sweet Evil, signed bookmarks, autographed bookplate stickers, Sweet Evil T-shirts similar to the ones worn in these pics, and I *might* have the soundtracks burned by then, too.
• This contest is open internationally!
