FINALLY I CAN TELL YOU!
I am so incredibly super thrilled and elated to share my latest news with you! I’ve accepted a 3-book deal from HarperCollins/HarperTeen! And wait until you hear the details. I swear, I giggled and clapped and jumped up and down at my kids’ soccer practice the evening I got the message from my agent.

It’s here!!! SEE ME is live in the world!
It’s been a crazy road to publication for this one. Lots of bumps along the way. It’s a story that started as a scoffing challenge from my husband, and turned into something totally fun for me. I hope it makes you smile and giggle and swoon. I hope it makes your St. Patrick’s day a little merrier. Especially those of you who are stuck in the snow, like me. We need a little Shamrock Shimmying up in here. Crazy. That is the only way I know how to explain my mindset for the past year. It’s been a crazy time for me.
You see, a few years ago I wrote a little book called See Me, which was a TON of fun. The problem with that story is that it defies too many YA conventions. And it’s…quirky. Different. My publisher passed on it, which I can totally understand, and I decided not to try and sell it to other publishers. Some stories are colored too far out of the lines, and not meant for traditional publishing. I decided it would be a better fit as an indie book. You can read about that decision and the story here.
Book ideas are funny things. It usually starts with one small idea for me, and then as I ask myself questions, layer upon layer is added and the idea grows. Generally my ideas seem to come out of nowhere. I can be sitting on the couch, doing dishes, half asleep in bed, driving the car, you name it — and BAM. Something hits me. Then my eyes glaze over as I begin to play around with it and creating ensues. Not every idea gets written. Sometimes it fades away. Sometimes I write a few pages to get it out of my system, and the inspiration snuffs out. But when an idea sticks, I try to run with it.
Kaidan Rowe needs your help! He is the major underdog today in the YA Crush Tournament over at YA Sisterhood! He’s up against the dashing Will Herondale from the best selling Cassie Clare books (and yes, I happen to love Will too, but come on. This is my Kai.)
